In 1795, three boys found a depression in the ground on a small island off Nova Scotia. Two hundred and thirty years, six lives and several fortunes later, nobody has reached the bottom of it.

As Above So Below follows an investigation that takes a different route. The answer, the book argues, was never underground: it was written in a field of boulders, in a night sky eight hundred years out of date, and in a document the world had already dismissed as a forgery.

A pattern of boulders on Oak Island has been known for decades. The book argues that their positions encode a deliberate geometric design using a repeating unit of measurement.

STARS

The geometry points beyond the island. Its alignments, the book argues, correspond to stars in positions they occupied approximately eight hundred years ago.

DOCUMENT

A document reputedly dating to the fourteenth century surfaced in 2016 and was dismissed as a forgery. The book re-examines what it describes and measures.

Two independent trails. One location.

The two lines of investigation were worked separately, months apart and by different methods. The book argues that they converge on the same coordinate.

THE AUTHOR

Conor Owens

Conor Owens is a Dublin author and an accountant by training who has spent his working life in financial services. He came to Oak Island through the television series and initially regarded a medieval Templar connection as an intriguing story rather than a proposition he believed.

What he brought to the problem was a habit of checking whether figures that ought to agree actually do, suspicion of numbers that look too convenient, and an unwillingness to accept that something cannot be worked out.

As Above So Below is his first book.
